06 Lori Gibbs headshot“Have fun” was the best comedy advice Lori Gibbs ever received, so naturally, she had it tattooed on her arm. That spirit of fun shines through in her performances, i.e. she finds it difficult to act like an adult for more than 7 consecutive minutes. She is often called the “human antidepressant.”

Lori’s Comedy Now! special regularly airs nationally on The Comedy Network. In 2015, Lori performed at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival. In 2016, she was invited back to record another gala and be part of the ‘Best of the Fest’ show. She was featured on Laugh Out Loud and is a regular on The Debaters, both on CBC Radio One. She has been nominated for a Canadian Comedy Award. Lori has delighted in performing at the Calgary Comedy Festival every year since it began. Lori performed comedy and was part of the Women at Work panel at the Calgary Folk Music Festival. If not on a comedy stage, you can catch Lori on CTV Morning Live & Global Morning News in Calgary doing Hot Glue Schtick, a savvy blend of comedy and crafting. A couple of times a month, she is a pop culture panelist on Alberta Primetime. Lori gleefully fell into a radio career in 2013 as a morning show host on X929 in Calgary then spent two years on the morning show at Up! 97.7.

Lori has become a favorite on comedy stages across Canada in part due to her ability to instantly connect with an audience. She’s been referred to as a “consistent crowd pleaser” and this has made her one of the most sought-after comedians working today. Her comedy is genuine, disarmingly fun, and wonderfully enthusiastic, appealing to a wide variety of audiences. Feeling at home on stage in a theater, a small town pub and everything in between, Lori’s humour and disposition turn any event into a fun time.

What people are saying about Lori:

“I recently a000002a2323dsked Lori Gibbs to help me co-host my social media conference called SocialWest. The decision to ask her was easy. I was looking for someone that could think fast on their feet, was incredibly likeable and easy to work with. Lori fulfills these requirements in spades.  As an organizer of an event, there’s nothing better than hearing how much fun people are having, and I fully believe that Lori was an integral part in making the first ever SocialWest a success.  Conferences can be long and exhausting, but Lori allowed the attendees to relax and really enjoy themselves. That’s invaluable, as is she.” Mike Morrison, Mike’s Bloggity Blog, Founder of SocialWest

“Lori Gibbs is professionally funny and by that I mean she makes other comics pee their pants.”  -Bryan Callen, MADtv, The Hangover, The Hangover Part 2, Entourage, Old School

It’s everything stand up comedy should be. The fact that she’s a suburban housewife who crafts by day and a world class stand up comedian by night boggles my mind. She’s the best of both worlds… warm and sincere in the daylight then completely badass with hilarious punchlines and killer comedic instinct by moonlight.  You really can’t go wrong with Lori Gibbs, 24 hours a day.  I’m so glad she forced me to be friends with her. She’s the best thing in my life, and I’d be dead without her. She also owes me like, $45 dollars (American).” -Iliza Shlesinger, Winner-Last Comic Standing, Comedian, Actress, Host of TV’s “Excused” & “Separation Anxiety”

Apparently we need to book the club for the entire night next year! Lol Again, you were amazing, I laughed so hard.” Randy Chevrier, Calgary Stampeders

“Lori Gibbs was the host of our 19th annual Inclusion Awards, celebrating individuals with developmental disabilities, those who work to support them, and those who promote inclusion. Besides being an absolute pleasure to deal with while we were in the planning stages of our event, Lori was a spectacular host. She added her own special (and hilarious) flair to our evening, and treated everyone she encountered with the utmost respect. This last point is especially important to us; some of our clients were co-presenting awards with Lori, and she was extremely supportive of them. Thank you, Lori, for helping to make our event memorable!”  A. Graveland-Daines, Developmental Disabilities Resources Centre of Calgary

“I was ever so lucky to be one of the audience members during one of Lori’s shows.  I had the opportunity to watch some of her YouTube videos, so I knew I was in for a real treat.  But let me tell you, they do not do her live show justice.  This lady gives a  new meaning to humour.  There wasn’t a moment that I wasn’t laughing hysterically.  Her stories and experiences that she has shared with us during her show had the entire crowed holding their stomachs from the pain of laughing.  Thank you Lori for a wonderful evening.  I can not wait to see you again live.” -Terry Vanmackelberg, Palliser Plains Co-operative Association Limited

“I didn’t think you were going to be good because you look like my Mom, but you were really funny!” –Audience member
